I saw the souls of them that were beheaded for the witness of Jesus, and for the word of God, and which had not worshipped the beast, neither his image, neither had received his mark upon their foreheads, or in their hands; and they lived and reigned with Christ a thousand years. But the rest of the dead lived not again until the thousand years were finished. This is the first resurrection. Blessed and holy is he that hath part in the first resurrection: on such the second death hath no power, but they shall be priests of God and of Christ, and shall reign with him a thousand years.
This is the first resurrection. Actually it is the conclusion of the first resurrection of the Saints. As pointed out in the blog on the rapture of the church, in thelastapostle.blog, there are a total of three resurrections of three types of saints, Old Testament Saints Matt. 27:52-54, Church Age Saints 1 Thess. 4:13-18, and Tribulation Saints Rev. 11:12. The student of the word of God, who rightly divides the Word, would recognize the three different dispensations and would know through the scriptures that qualification for salvation is a bit different for each dispensation. Now this goes without saying, Salvation is always by FAITH, the book of Hebrews, Chapter 11:6 “But without faith it is impossible to please him:”.
Old Testament Saints salvation was a Conditional Covenant based on the keeping of the Law of Moses. The evidence for this is found in the book of Ezekiel, Chapter 18, were it Shows that if a righteous man turns from his righteousness and dies in his wickedness, his righteousness will not be remembered and therefore his salvation is lost. For the Church Age Saint Ephesians 2:8-10 defines salvation for them being based on GRACE through FAITH, not of WORKS. Never being able to lose his life, for he is passed from death unto life and has the righteousness of Jesus Christ! The Tribulation Saint’s salvation is based on their keeping the commands of God and having the testimony of Jesus Christ, Rev. 12:17, 14:12. and never taking the mark, name, or number of the beast, which is a certain death for those that do when Jesus return as KING OF KINGS!
None of God’s saints have seen the full inheritance of their salvation except perhaps Antediluvian Saints, which Enoch, who walked with God right into heaven, was one. He didn’t die for God took him! Enoch is another story for another blog. Antediluvian Saints are those who lived before the Flood and are also another story for another blog,
The Millennial Kingdom is the inheritance for the Israelites and Proselytes from the Old Testament and Saints from the Tribulation Period. The Rapture ends the Church Age and the Judgement Seat of Christ determines their reward in the Kingdom of God. Therefore, actually no 0ne has seen the full extent of their salvation. Christians, who are physically dead in Christ and those who are physically alive in Christ await the Rapture 1 Thess. 4:13-18. Old Testament Saints and Tribulation await the 2nd Coming of Christ and his Millennial Reign on the earth to experience the full extent of what God has promised them. If you really think about it we are all in wait for a New Heaven and New Earth where God the almighty dwells with us. The New Earth for the Israelites and the New Jerusalem for the Church!
