Psalms 119: 18
Open thou mine eyes,
that I may behold wondrous things out of thy law.
One of the “Wondrous Things” of the first blog was the comparison of this heaven an earth and the new one God will create when eternity starts and God will dwell with us. Another one of the “Wondrous Things” was finding who was there when God created this heaven and earth, particularity the Sons of God of Job 38:7. When the morning stars sang together, and all the sons of God shouted for joy? A third Wondrous Thing is what was God beginning to do with this literal, visible, and physical, creation of heaven and earth, is doing in six literal 24 hour days. Creating all our five senses that we can enjoy , including man as well. Giving that man, Adam, dominion over everything making him a King, over what Matthew calls “The Kingdom of Heaven”.
THE KINGDOM OF GOD
The KOG is a Spiritual kingdom unseen by the naked eye or through the Hubble Telescope, which is above the current universe, known in the Bible as the firmament, Gen. 1:6-8. The KOG, the dwelling place of God, is home too many other types of creatures. Whose attributes are very unique compared to our own! Their make up is a bit more superior to ours, in the fact that they can change their appearance from their own to that of us. The men that appeared with the pre-incarnate Christ to Abraham when Sodom and Gomorrah were in for destruction.
GENESIS 18:1-4. And the Lord appeared unto him in the plains of Mamre: and he sat in the tent door in the heat of the day; And he lift up his eyes and looked, and, lo, three men stood by him: and when he saw them, he ran to meet them from the tent door, and bowed himself toward the ground, And said, My Lord, if now I have found favour in thy sight, pass not away, I pray thee, from thy servant:
GEN. 18:16, 22. And the men rose up from thence, and looked toward Sodom: and Abraham went with them to bring them on the way. And the men turned their faces from thence, and went toward Sodom: but Abraham stood yet before the Lord.
Notice in the above passages that these are called men who came with the Lord. Later in the story we shall learn that these men were much more than men. They were angels who changed themselves to appear as men, just as the Lord had done.
GEN. 19:1, 5, And there came two angels to Sodom at even; and Lot sat in the gate of Sodom: and Lot seeing them rose up to meet them; and he bowed himself with his face toward the ground; And they called unto Lot, and said unto him, Where are the men which came in to thee this night? bring them out unto us, that we may know them.
The men of Sodom saw them as men, but Lot knew that they were more than just men and knew what the men of Sodom wanted to do with them, to the point that Lot offered his daughters unto them.
GEN. 19:7-8, And said, I pray you, brethren, do not so wickedly. Behold now, I have two daughters which have not known man; let me, I pray you, bring them out unto you, and do ye to them as is good in your eyes: only unto these men do nothing; for therefore came they under the shadow of my roof.
These Angels were righteous, appearing as men doing the will of God. There are, of course Fallen Angels, who do things not of the will of the Lord. Both types of Angels, are referred to as “Sons of God” in Job 1:6, 2:1, and 38:7.
GENESIS 6:1-4, And it came to pass, when men began to multiply on the face of the earth, and daughters were born unto them, That the sons of God saw the daughters of men that they were fair; and they took them wives of all which they chose. And the Lord said, My spirit shall not always strive with man, for that he also is flesh: yet his days shall be an hundred and twenty years. There were giants (the Nephilim) in the earth in those days; and also after that, when the sons of God came in unto the daughters of men, and they bare children to them, the same became mighty men which were of old, men of renown.
These sons of God were not doing the will of God when taking the daughters of men for their wives and having children that became mighty men which were of old, men of renown. The apostle Jude in his book says Jude 1:6, And the angels which kept not their first estate, but left their own habitation, he hath reserved in everlasting chains under darkness unto the judgment of the great day. Notice that Moses calls them “sons of God” while Jude refers to them as “Angels”.
Question? Were these “Sons of God”, in Jude, the same as the ones that shouted for joy when at the creation of the heaven and earth, Job 38:7? Or, the ones that came to present themselves before the Lord, Job 1:6, 2:1? I guess it depends on the time line of events, which came first, Job 1:6, 38:7, or Genesis 6:1-4! Obviously the Job passages came first! The passages in Job were speaking of the group called “sons of God” who were present at the creation of the heaven and earth, job 38:7. The other Job passages, Job 1:6, 2:1, came after the heaven and earth were already created.
The Apostle John
The Apostle John in the gospel he wrote introduces another group as the “sons of God”, John 1:11-12. He came unto his own, and his own received him not. But as many as received him, to them gave he power to become the sons of God, even to them that believe on his name: This means that the person, who receives Jesus, believes on his name, according to apostle Paul is made a new creature, 2 Cor. 5:17, Therefore if any man be in Christ, he is a new creature: old things are passed away; behold, all things are become new. AS John would put it John 1:13, Which were born, not of blood, nor of the will of the flesh, nor of the will of man, but of God. John would crouch it with a new term of being “Born Again”, John 3:3, quoting Jesus, “Verily, verily, I say unto thee, Except a man be born again, he cannot see the kingdom of God.” Jesus further explains to Nicodemus John 3:5-7, “Verily, verily, I say unto thee, Except a sh is flesh; and that which is born of the Spirit is spirit. Marvel not that I said unto thee, Ye must be born again. Therefore, there it is from the Almighty Lord Jesus himself,
“Ye must be born again.”
When anyone makes the decision to be “Born Again” things change for sure! Once a citizen of The Kingdom of Heaven, a citizen of earth, your citizenship is no longer here on earth. You live here now! However, Paul writes to the Philippians and says, Phil. 3:20-21. For our conversation is in heaven; from whence also we look for the Saviour, the Lord Jesus Christ: Who shall change our vile body, that it may be fashioned like unto his glorious body, according to the working whereby he is able even to subdue all things unto himself. Like the theme song from The Jeffersons, “Well we’re movin on up, To the east side. To a deluxe apartment in the sky.”
Those who are “Born Again”, although. living here in the “Kingdom of Heaven”, are actually a citizen of the “Kingdom of God”! One day this will be a realized fact when we are caught up to meet the Lord in the air: and so shall we ever be with the Lord, 1 Th. 4:17. What a very “Wondrous Thing”, the catching away of the saints, the Body of Christ, the Church, the Bride of Christ, and yes, the Sons of God!!!
That’s right, “Sons of God”. Those who are Born Again by the Spirit of God become “Sons of God”, John 1:12. Now think about it, the Scripture says, When Satan fell and was cast to the earth that His angels fell with him, REV. 12:9, And the great dragon was cast out, that old serpent, called the Devil, and Satan, which deceiveth the whole world: he was cast out into the earth, and his angels were cast out with him. Angels we have learned are in fact “Sons of God”, and it makes you wonder, if the creation of saints made by believing the Gospel now days, in the Age of Grace, in fact are to replace “sons of God” who fell with Satan, when he fell??? Just a thought. While your thinking, read the blog about the Rapture of the Church. This event may happen on the day of Pentecost next year, May 31, 2020!
Creatures of the Kingdom of God
The Creatures that God created that dwell in his kingdom, the Kingdom of God, are these, Cherubim, Seraphim, and Angels. The greatest of the Cherubim is Lucifer, known as son of the Morning, Isa. 14:12, the anointed Cherub the covereth the Throne, Ezek. 28:14-15, “Thou art the anointed cherub that covereth; and I have set thee so: thou wast upon the holy mountain of God; thou hast walked up and down in the midst of the stones of fire. Thou wast perfect in thy ways from the day that thou wast created, till iniquity was found in thee.”
